History

Old Isleworth is an historic town dating back to the Saxon period, situated strategically in West London on the banks of the River Thames.

Old Isleworth borders with Syon Park, the London residence of the Duke of Northumberland. Syon House is an important Grade I listed stately home, set in circa 200 acres. The gardens were landscaped by Capability Brown in 1760 and its interior was designed by Robert Adam in the 1760s.

During Georgian times, many fine properties were constructed in Old Isleworth for noblemen and affluent families. Many of these properties can be seen along Church Street and Lower Square, at the heart of which sits The Old Blue School.
